Senior KYC Officer
- University degree in law, finance, economics or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in KYC/AML, preferably in the financial sector: a brokerage firm, bank, fintech company or another regulated organisation.
- Knowledge of Georgian legislation and international AML/CFT requirements, including the regulations and practices of the Financial Monitoring Service of Georgia.
- Practical experience in conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
- Experience in reviewing and verifying individual and corporate clients.
- Knowledge of sanctions screening, PEP checks and adverse media screening processes.
- Experience with KYC systems and data providers such as Shufti Pro, World-Check, Dow Jones or LexisNexis will be an advantage.
- Fluency in Georgian is mandatory; proficiency in English and/or Russian for working with documentation will be an advantage.
- ACAMS, ICA or a comparable professional qualification will be an advantage.
- Client identification and verification.
- Application of a risk-based approach to KYC processes.
- Identification of beneficial owners.
- Assessment of the client’s profile and business model.
- Analysis of source of funds and source of wealth.
- Practical application of AML/CFT requirements.
- Understanding of FATF Recommendations.
- Participation in the preparation and improvement of internal policies and procedures.
- Risk assessment where information is incomplete.
- Analysis of complex client and corporate structures.
- Ability to make independent and well-reasoned decisions.
- Conducting KYC checks on individuals and legal entities.
- Collecting, reviewing and validating client documentation.
- Identifying beneficial owners.
- Conducting CDD and EDD based on the client’s risk level.
- Performing enhanced reviews of higher-risk clients.
- Assessing the client’s business and financial activities.
- Categorising clients by risk level.
- Escalating high-risk cases to the AML Officer.
- Documenting identified risk factors and review results.
- Conducting sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening.
- Supporting the ongoing monitoring of client activity.
- Maintaining complete and secure KYC files and client records.
- Updating information in the Company’s internal systems.
- Preparing documentation required for audits and regulatory inspections.
